A local author is returning to the Estevan Public Library to promote her latest novel.
Estevan’s Rhonda Stock will participate in an author’s reading at the library on March 23, starting at 6:30 p.m. She will read from Sin and Salvation, which is the second book in her Dust and Devils series.
Following the reading, Stock will be available for questions and discussions. People can bring their copies of her books for Stock to sign, or they can purchase them directly from her the night of the reading.
This is not the first time Stock has appeared at the library. She launched Dust and Devils, the first book in her series, at a reading in December 2014.
The series is set during the Great Depression, and tracks the adventures of Jake Harrow, a young man who struggles to leave the place he calls home to find his father, but he is being pursued by his father’s enemies.
Stock grew up in Assiniboia and currently resides just outside of Estevan on a ranch with her family. She’s an engineer, a mother, and the chair for the Estevan and Area Writers Group. Writing remains one of her first loves.
She credits her grandfather for getting her interested in what life was like in the 1930s, as he wrote down his life story and family history.
