People’s Choice exhibit is now open for entries

The James Weir People’s Choice art exhibition is now open for entries by artists from Weyburn and the southeast region. The annual art competition will be on display from Jan. 5 to Feb. 9, 2017, and the reception and awards will be held on Feb.

The James Weir People’s Choice art exhibition is now open for entries by artists from Weyburn and the southeast region. The annual art competition will be on display from Jan. 5 to Feb. 9, 2017, and the reception and awards will be held on Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
The deadline for entry is Tuesday, Dec. 20. Entry forms are available at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery, Signal Hill Arts Centre or online at www.weyburnartscouncil.ca.
Forms may be turned in at the front desk at the Weyburn Public Library, or at the Signal Hill Arts Centre. The art works to be displayed must be delivered to the Allie Griffin Art Gallery by 10 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2017.
In the meantime, the exhibit, “Where’s the Love?”, with works by Marilyn Nelson and art students from the Weyburn Comp, will be on display through December at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery.
At the Weyburn Credit Union gallery, a collection of works by Shelley van de Sype, entitled “Layers”, is on display through December.
Hannah Grieve has an exhibition of works, entitled “Out Side the Box”, at the Signal Hill Art Gallery, on the second floor of the Signal Hill Arts Centre, until the end of December.
