A special art fair will be held at the Signal Hill Arts Centre grounds during the 2016 Reunion weekend. The “We’re Doing It On the Hill” art fair will be held on Friday, July 29 and Saturday, July 30.
The art fair runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. It will include a wide selection of local artists, who will be showcasing their artwork for sale.
Other scheduled activities for the 2016 Reunion include a Tribute Night and meet and greet on Friday, July 29 at the Cugnet Centre. Registration will start at 5 p.m.
There is also a special dance featuring March Hare and Switch scheduled for Saturday, July 30 at the Cugnet Centre. The doors open at 5 p.m.
Also, there is a golf tournament scheduled on Sunday, July 31 at the Weyburn Golf Course.
Reunion groups, businesses and organizations are encouraged to submit their community activities to the Weyburn Review or Weyburn This Week, so the information can be included into a special commemorative Reunion Edition.
All submissions can be emailed to [email protected]. The deadline is Friday, July 15.
There are currently a number of art exhibits on display at the local art galleries throughout the city.
At the Allie Griffin Art Gallery is “Way Back Weyburn”, works from the City of Weyburn’s permanent art collection.
At the Signal Hill Arts Centre second floor art gallery is “What’s Up Weyburn”, which is a multi-artist show featuring the creations of current Weyburn Artists.
In addition, the Weyburn Arts Council and the Signal Hill Arts Centre are looking for an image of Saskatchewan scenery by a local Weyburn photographer. They are planning a mural project for Culture Days, which will be held in September.
