Weyburn singer Tenille Arts is on the final ballot for the Saskatchewan Country Music Association Awards.
Currently living and working in Nashville, Arts has been nominated as “Female Vocalist of the Year” and for the “Emerging Artist Award”.
A highlight of her past year was the release of her single, “Breathe” for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, which topped the country iTunes charge at No. 6, and All Genres iTunes charge at No. 54.
In addition, she signed a publishing deal in Nashville, prompting her to make the move to work in Music City.
“I just recently recorded new songs and I can’t wait to return to my home province and share all of my new music with my prairie family. I’m a proud Saskatchewan girl,” she said in a post on her Facebook page.
The 27th annual SCMA awards will be presented on April 22-24 in Saskatoon. Tenille will be in Weyburn to perform twice this spring, as she is coming to sing her new songs in a concert at the Tommy Douglas Centre on Sunday, May 1, and then will perform at the Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser event on Friday, May 6 at McKenna Hall.
