Residents are encouraged to gather with their friends, don their masks and most dazzling outfits and join the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation for a Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Gala.
“In partnership with Crocus 80 Theatre, we are excited to bring you this one of a kind unforgettable evening,” said Melanie Sorenson, office manager of the Hospital Foundation.
The Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Gala will be held Friday, Feb. 5 at McKenna Hall. Tickets are $75 each and available from the Hospital Foundation office, Pharmasave, York Jewelers or Superior Office Products.
The jam-packed evening includes live music during cocktails from the Weyburn Comp jazz band, a catered beef or chicken dinner, and a chance to solve the Murder Mystery presented with Crocus 80 Theatre. Also, DJ Richy Roy will provide a musical backdrop for the event and the Weyburn Fire Brigade will be on hand to help throughout the evening.
Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. with dinner starts at 7 p.m. Seating will be round tables of eights.
In the Murder Mystery, the streets of New Orleans were witness to murder. Monsieur Pierre DuPre was strangled with an antique set of Mardi Gras beads. Feathers were scattered about the billiards room where Mr. DuPre was found sprawled in front of a leather chair.
Help is required to find the cad capable of such a heinous crime! There is also an opportunity to participate in the crime itself by purchasing a character.
Cayenne Pepper, the DuPre family live-in chef has a long and sordid history with Mr. Dupre. This is one character role that could be filled for an exciting tale of intrigue!
“We will have raffle prizes as well, including the continuation of our Canadian Diamonds in Ice, this year with two half-carat diamonds available to win,” said Sorenson.
For further information, purchase tickets or participate as a character please contact Melanie at the Foundation Office by emailing [email protected] or contact any foundation board member.
All proceeds go towards the building and equipping of a new hospital for Weyburn and area. Additional information can be found at www.wdhf.ca .
