Weyburn Concert Series announces 2015-2016 season

The Weyburn Concert Series has announced its' 2015-2016 line-up, and it has shaped up to be the organization's most exciting series to date.


ABBAmania & BEE GEES 'NIGHT FEVER' will kick off the season on September 29. With amazing vocals, look and sound, ABBAmania and 'Night Fever' will take you back in time to when ABBA and the Bee Gees ruled the pop charts.


The Celtic Tenors, the most successful classical crossover artists ever to emerge from Ireland, will perform on November 24. Their live show is an experience overflowing with vitality and variety from start to finish.


Luke McMaster, who's smash hit "Good Morning Beautiful" (featuring Jim Brickman) has topped radio play charts, will hit the stage on February 10, 2016. Luke's exciting live set not only strongly reflects the power and emotion of his early Motown influences, but is further shaped by a confidence and performance style that fuels what critics have described as a "total package" audience appeal.


Canada's Ballet Jörgen will present one of the world's most famous classical ballets, 'Sleeping Beauty' on the Cugnet Centre stage on March 9, 2016. Whether you know ballet or simply have a spot in your heart for the magic of fairy tales, Sleeping Beauty will be an entertaining and inspiring evening of live performance.


Five voices, zero instruments ... one exciting new sound! Using just their voices, Eh440, a Toronto-based a cappella group has wowed audiences across Europe, USA, and Canada, and will be performing in Weyburn on April 22, 2016.


The final performance in the season will be The Leahys - In Song on May 1, 2016. The Leahy Family has played, danced and shared their music throughout the world, gaining critical acclaim and accolades for their musicality, talent and performance. In a new grouping, The Leahys are delving further into their love of singing and song-writing. Audiences can expect solid and energetic performances along with their trade-mark stand-out musicianship.


Tickets for the season are offered at an early bird price prior to May 31. Adult subscriptions are $100.00 and child/student subscriptions are $35.00, and include all six performances. After May 31, the adult subscription price will be $125.00, with child/student subscriptions remaining at $35.00.


On May 10, Weyburn Concert Series is holding a Volunteer Appreciation Concert, featuring pianist Meagan Milatz. The tickets for this concert are $15.00, and are available at Superior Office Products or at the door. Those who have purchased 2015-2016 season tickets on or before May 10 are able to enjoy this special concert free of charge.
