The name of the elevator stop arose from when local rancher Bill Parry was asked by the railroad surveyors what lay ahead, and he allegedly responded, "More land."
Such elevators once dotted the prairie landscape, but are now virtually all gone, replaced by the new larger, more efficient concrete terminals, such as those located at Weyburn.
Elevators still standing like this one are usually either unused, or are privately owned by local farmers.
