The Estevan Christian Women’s After Five Club met for their monthly supper meeting on April 20 at the Living Hope Community Church with 33 women in attendance.
Prior to the roast beef supper catered by EB’s Dining Emporium, the local Estevan Filipino choir took the stage to sing three beautiful songs including Shine Jesus Shine.
The local feature for the evening was the presentation by the new executive director of the Estevan Chamber of Commerce, Jackie Wall who has been in the position for almost a year. She described her role in the organization and the benefits to the business community as well as individuals in Estevan when becoming involved with the C of C.
Inspirational guest speaker, Tandy Balson, travelled from Airdrie, Alta., to share her faith story, If Better is Possible, is Good, Good Enough? Balson is a published author who got started with her writing careers after a trip to Saskatchewan in 2012 when she visited the Christian Women’s Clubs in Regina, Fort Qu’Appelle and Estevan. Her travelling companion at the time remarked positively about her presentation and ability to share her life with others in an easy to relate to way. During the drive home, Balson came up with a name for her blog, Time with Tandy. Eventually she began publishing short stories on her blog, then compiling many of these stories into books which have now been published. Balson had her books on display after her presentation to the club and was met with enthusiasm by the local ladies. To learn more about Tandy Balson, visit her website www.timewithtandy.com
