Rivers around Estevan are teeming with turtles.
Most of the time people can come across a bunch of cute painted turtles like grapes hanging on fallen trees or big rocks on the sides of the water.
But every so often their not-so-attractive relatives, ancient and scary looking snappers, pop their heads up and drag their big bodies out to the shores or big logs to warm up their cold blood.
This one was spotted by the Estevan Water Treatment Plant in the last week of May.
