The City of Estevan has announced that the boil water order has been lifted for those residents who were still subject to a localized drinking water advisory notice last week.

In a post on its Facebook page Thursday afternoon, the city said seven business days now have passed since a letter was sent about the localized drinking water advisory. Residents can resume using their water as normal.

Water service was knocked out to residences and other buildings in parts of southeast Estevan for about 24 hours on Feb. 3 and 4, due to a major water main break. When water service was restored, the properties were subject to the boil water order.

There was already a boil water order in place for all properties south of the CP Rail tracks that came into effect on Feb. 3.

When the boil water order was lifted for most of those who are south of the CP Rail tracks on Feb. 7, the boil water order was still in place for some in southeast Estevan.
