A fire at Estevan's water treatment plant has forced the City to ask residents to conserve water. The City announced that the fire occurred Friday and no injuries took place as a result. However the electrical system at the plant was damaged in the fire and the City is asking residents to conserve water until the damage can be repaired. The City asks that residents not water their lawn and gardens; have short showers and no baths; do not wash clothes; turn off the faucet when brushing teeth or shaving and refrain from washing vehicles. The City also asks that residents do not fill their tubs or other containers as it will only deplete the system further. Check back for more information as it becomes available.
