Weyburn police were notified on Saturday by the RCMP of a possible drinking driver coming into the city. The suspect vehicle was located and stopped, and as a result the 25-year-old female driver was issued a 72-hour licence suspension and had her vehicle impounded for three days.
Weyburn police are investigating a report of an altercation between two 13-year-old males on Saturday. Police wish to remind everyone that regardless of any criminal charges for assault, anyone participating in a fight can be issued a ticket worth $500 under the City Bylaw. Likewise anyone found to have encouraged a fight, or to have video-recorded a fight, can be issued a similar ticket under the bylaw.
A curfew check was conducted on a young offender who was found to be in breach on Thursday. He is now facing a breach charge and will be back in court. A curfew check was conducted on the same young offender on Friday as in the previous night and was similarly found to be in breach and charged.
Weyburn police were dispatched to a report of a disturbance in an apartment in the early evening hours on Friday. As a result of the call and attending, a 41-year-old male was arrested for assault against a 49-year-old male. He was taken into custody without incident.
While on patrol, a male young offender known to be on curfew conditions was observed walking down a street on Sunday. He was arrested for breaching the court-ordered condition and is now facing a breach charge and will be back in court.
As the result of an erratic driving observation, a vehicle stop was conducted by a member of the Weyburn Police Service in the early morning hours on Sunday. The 23-year-old male driver was issued a traffic ticket for the driving infraction. His 17-year-old male passenger was found to be in breach of a curfew condition on a court-ordered release. He was arrested and is now facing a breach charge before the court.
A curfew check was conducted on a 30-year-old male to ensure compliance with court-ordered conditions in the early morning hours on Sunday. Charges are pending.
The Weyburn Police Service became aware of the existence of arrest warrants for a 22-year-old female and a 20-year-old male on Sunday. The two people were located and arrested without incident. They were released to appear back in Manitoba for court.
In the early afternoon hours the Weyburn police were dispatched to a report of domestic assault between adult siblings on Sunday. The matter was successfully mediated without the need for further police involvement.
Meanwhile, the Milestone RCMP received a complaint of a single vehicle rollover involving two occupants, one adult male and one adult female, on a grid road in the Rouleau area on Monday at 7:30 a.m.
The STARS air ambulance was dispatched along with the Rouleau Fire Department, however, both occupants were transported to hospital in Regina via ground ambulance for precautionary measures.
The investigation is ongoing into the cause of the collision.
