The "Day in the Park" spring festival is set to run on Sunday, June 10, from 1-4 p.m. The event showcases what the Tatagwa Parkway has to offer area residents, while providing free, family-friendly, entertainment.

The event showcases what the Tatagwa Parkway has to offer area residents, while providing free, family-friendly, entertainment.
This year's celebration will be held along the Red Coat Trail, highlighting its significance to the city.
"We're trying to educate people about what is out there," said Parks Chairman, Coun. Nancy Styles. A new brochure outlining what the park has to offer will also available, displaying the many walking trails, bridges, and nature areas in the park.
To start the day a grand opening ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. to unveil the Weyburn Community Dog Park.
The dog park, located near the Tatagwa View care facility, allows owners to walk and play with their dogs in a fenced-in, off-leash environment.
]The ceremonies will also include the dedication of a bench to the Weyburn Rotary Club. A tree will also be dedicated posthumously to Marlene Nedelcov. Both the Rotary Club and Nedelcov are being recognized for their contributions to the park's creation.
The STARS choir will be performing at 1:30 p.m., while the Sun Country Kids Club will be running children's games at 2 p.m. A display of remote controlled vehicles, including cars and planes, will happen at 3 p.m. All events are free to attend.
A bike parade is also part of the day and children who decorate their bikes will be entered to win prizes in a special raffle.
A general raffle will also be held for all event participants, with prizes being announced during the day. Attendance is required to claim a prize.
The Rotary Club will also be selling hamburgers and hot dogs during the day with all proceeds going to fund the park.
