The Weyburn Comprehensive School held their 55th annual Awards Night on June 5 at the Cugnet Centre, presenting academic awards along with scholarships and bursaries for the graduating students.
The T.C. Douglas medals, presented to the students with the top averages in Grade 12 were presented. The girls winners were tied between Zoe Molder and Paytonn Gibson, with Maryalle Tan as the runner-up. For boys, Cody Schlosser was the winner, and Dawson Alexander was the runner-up.
The R.C. Smith General Proficiency Award was presented to Tyra Sandiford, who had the highest total of extracurricular points combined with a high average. She had 160 points, plus an average of 93 per cent.
The prestigious Tom Zandee Humanitarian Award was presented to Rebecca Mondor, as a student who gave of herself in a selfless and significant way for the betterment of others.
The Principal’s List was presented to students who achieved an overall average of 90 per cent or higher for this year, and included the following: Tatum Abel, Kylee Adacsi, Ensley Akins, Dawson Alexander, Hannah Bitz, Shayda Cook, Ashley Culham, Haley Dixon, Bayley Farr, Samuel Ferguson, Paytonn Gibson, Tyler Grieve, Kenzie Hoium, Karissa Kater, Morgan King, Jada Layden-Wilson, Austin Lund, Kaj MacMurchy, Gage Marshall, Amanda Martin, Tyrell Mabee, Courtney Myers, Zoe Molder, Rebecca Mondor, Josh Mowchenko, Dalton Neiszner, Randi Paulhus, Devon Pompu, Janelle Pouliot, Raegen Ribalkin, Janus Rodriguez, Mollie Saffery, Tyra Sandiford, Cody Schlosser, Haidan Skinner, Brynna Spence, Maryalle Tan, Dylon Ustupski and Levi Woodard.
