Disney’s “High School Musical” will be the 2017 senior musical presentation at the Weyburn Comprehensive School in late May.
Troy, Gabriella and the students of East High must deal with issues of first love, friends and family while balancing their classes and extra-curricular activities. The show is fun for the whole family. It will have a large cast and upbeat numbers, making it the ideal show for high school productions. The show will run during the weekend of May 26 to 28.
Plans and deposit procedures for the upcoming Comp music trip to Minneapolis in early May have been finalized. The trip includes seeing the musical “Wicked” at the Orpheum Theater, attending the Chanhassen Dinner Theater’s production of “Grease” and attending a Minnesota Twins – Boston Red Sox ball game.
There will be performance concerts at various schools along with a visit to the Mall of America.
The Comp Eagles senior boys and girls basketball teams journey to Estevan today, Feb. 15, for the second half of the McLeod Series. After splitting the games this past Wednesday, WCS goes into the contest with a five-point lead, and action will be hot and heavy in Estevan starting at 5 p.m.
This weekend, because of the upcoming school break, the only teams in action will be the senior curling teams. The boys are hosting the district playoffs here in Weyburn on Friday while the mixed and girls teams are in Estevan on Friday and Saturday. Winners will advance to the SHSAA regional playoffs the next weekend.
