A long-awaited project is now underway for the RM of Weyburn, as construction began for the new $600,000 septage receiving station.
The new facility will be located at the original city lagoon on 22nd Avenue, and it will allow the dumping of sewage from both the RM and City of Weyburn.
The project is a showcase of the commitment of the RM to work closely with the City through the District Planning Commission.
Under the New Building Canada’s Small Communities Fund program, the federal and provincial governments are each investing $114,000 towards the project, and the RM is paying the balance of the costs.
