Weyburn city council extended a service agreement to the developer of the Douglas Heights subdivision on South Hill until the end of September 2019, with conditions.

The owner of 7 G.B. Enterprises, Gurmej Josan of Surrey, B.C., explained that work that had been completed in 2017, such as the curbs and gutters, sidewalks and the road sub-base, had all been washed out by heavy rainfall in June of this year, he requested an extension of the service agreement so he could fully complete the proposed subdivision work.

The first phase of work was done in September with the curbs and sidewalks redone, and phases 2 and 3 are scheduled to be completed in 2019.

The water, sewer and sanitary lines were completed and SaskEnergy completed installation of gas lines as well.

Council approved extending the service agreement, as long as the developer provides monthly progress reports to the city of what work is being done. Failure to provide this to the city could result in the termination of the agreement extension.
