ESTEVAN — The Estevan Police Service says it has charged a 20-year-old man from Brandon, Man., with multiple offences, including child pornography.
According to the news release for July 24, the EPS received a complaint earlier this year and with the assistance of the Manitoba and Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Units, a search warrant was authorized for a residence in Brandon, which resulted in the man's arrest and seizure of several items.
He has been charged with creating child pornography, possessing child pornography, extortion and uttering threats.
The man was transported back to Estevan, where he appeared in Estevan Provincial Court July 25. He was remanded into custody for court on July 28. The EPS says it continues to investigate the allegations.

Also on July 24, members responded to a report of an intoxicated female near a service station. The woman was located and it was determined she was fine and did not need any assistance.
Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. The vehicle was located and the motorist was sober.
The EPS conducted high-visibility check stops July 25 in locations in the city, checking for driver sobriety and working to improve traffic safety. No further details were immediately released.
Police received a report July 26 of a break and enter to a residence in northwest Estevan. A statement was obtained and the matter is under investigation.
A report came in of a theft from a local business. A witness statement and video surveillance will be obtained from the complainant. The matter is under investigation.
A male was located and arrested for failing to attend court. He was released from custody with a future court date.
Earlier in the week, members of the EPS and Estevan EMS attended to a residence in north Estevan July 21 on the report of a possible overdose. Upon arrival, a 37-year-old man was found unconscious. Naloxone spray was used to revive him. He was transported to hospital for further treatment.
