Envision Counselling and Support Centre has a critical need as the summer fades to fall. “We have no gift cards to offer to clients and women in need in the community. Often when an individual is starting a new life free of violence and abuse, Envision will provide gifts cards for gas or other necessities,” said Tania Hlohovsky Andrist, resource development coordinator at Envision.
Envision is now asking community members to drop off gift cards at one of our four offices in Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle, or Oxbow. Envision will accept gift cards in any denomination, even partially used cards.
Envision Counselling and Support Centre offers counselling and support for individuals experiencing abuse or other traumatic events. “We are the only Sexual Assault Centre in this part of the province, providing services to victims and their families. Providing gift cards to our clients is one way we attempt to be the catalyst for change so that individuals may live in a world of dignity, hope, and possibility,” said Hlohovsky Andrist.
Envision believes in client-centered counselling, with an emphasis on engaging clients’ strengths. This means that their clients decide what issues they will work on. Envision counsellors won’t force clients to do something they’re not ready for.  Counselling is available for: survivors and secondary survivors of abuse, violence, and sexual assault; children (aged 5 – 18) who have witnessed violence; families experiencing an event or situation that is overwhelming or traumatic; couples; stalking and harassment victims; and individuals exposed to human trafficking or sexual exploitation.
