The Saskatchewan Health Authority has announced the dates when eight of the 12 regional emergency rooms temporarily closed as part of the COVID-19 response plan will be open again.
These hospitals were converted to alternate level of care sites across the province. The Ministry of Health said this helped build capacity for any potential surge in COVID-19 cases and to protect against outbreaks in the medical facilities.
The Arcola Health Centre will open on June 16, the same day as Leader. The Gallaway Health Centre in Oxbow and the facility Biggar will open June 22.
Kerrobert will be the first to open June 12.
Remaining dates are Preeceville June 18, Davidson June 24 and Herbert June 25.
These dates may be subject to the status of active COVID-19 positive cases and ability to meet all required safety criteria and human resourcing requirements for re-opening. The Saskatchewan Health Authority continues to work on ER resumption planning for the community hospitals in Broadview, Radville, Lanigan and Wolseley.
