Willa-Mae Donald, Kendra Weimer and Heidi McCallum decorate Christmas cookies with brightly-coloured icing and sprinkles, at one of several tables set up as part of the first annual "Messy Church" event hosted by Grace United Church on Nov. 26 in the Upper Grace Hall. There were also tables with crafts, making Christmas decorations or playing games, and later the group shared a meal together. The concept of "Messy Church", with activities that bring families and individuals together, is gaining momentum around the world, as it can now be found in churches in 16 countries.
