The annual meeting was held for the Duplicate Bridge Club on May. The executive will remain as: club manager is Barry Mactaggart; president is Jean Knibbs; vice president is Lydia Milleker, and secretary/treasurer is Diane Bell.
The Weyburn Duplicate Bridge Club summer hours for June, July and August are only Monday evenings at the Wheatland Senior Centre at 7 p.m. The club’s summer social will be held on Monday, June 12, with dinner at 5:30 p.m. and bridge at 7 p.m.
Three tables played on May 1. Jean Knibbs and Jim Brown started the month by taking first place, followed by Gord Bell and Rick Wanner in second. Four tables played on May 4. First place went to Erskine Sandiford and Fred Milleker, second place went to Gord Bell and Marg Stewart, and third went to Diane Bell and Jim Kaz. Three tables played on May 8. Fred and Lydia Milleker took top honours followed closely by Barry Mactaggart and Marg Stewart. Four tables played on May 11. First place went to Gord Bell and Marg Stewart, second place went to Barry Mactaggart and Jim Kaz, and third went to Fred and Lydia Milleker. Four tables played on May 15. Gord Bell and Marg Stewart placed first, Diane Bell and Barry Mactaggart came second, and Lucie Nickel and Lydia Milleker were third.
Three tables played on May 18. Theresa Istace and Linda Kot finished in first, while Gord Bell and Jim Kaz placed second. Victoria Day, May 22, had three tables that played. First place went to John Whitell and Theresa Istace, followed by a tie for second between Jean Knibbs and Jim Brown, and Gord Bell and Jim Kaz. Five tables played on May 25. There was a tie for first between Gord Bell and John Whitell, and Diane Bell and Jim Kaz; and there was also a tie for third between Boyd and Marg Stewart, and Linda Kot and Lucie Nickel. There were four tables that played during the final game of the month in May. First place were Lydia Milleker and John Whitell; second place went to Gord Bell and Barry Mactaggart; and there was a tie for third between Fred Milleker and Jim Kaz, and Jim and Marion Brown.
