Earlybird prizes added to Red Wings and Beavers 50/50

There are some extra incentives for residents who purchase a Weyburn Red Wings/ Weyburn Beavers progressive 50/50 ticket. In addition to a potential $60,000 to be split between the winner and the Red Wings and Beavers, there are several earlybird draws that were introduced to the 50/50 this year.
“We have added three earlybird prizes this year,” said Ron Fellner, a representative from the Weyburn Red Wings volunteer committee. The first earlybird draw will be made on Wednesday, June 28, and it is for a Roughrider jersey and $500. The second earlybird draw is for a Brett Jones jersey and $500, to be drawn on July 30; and the third earlybird draw is for a 55-inch Panasonic TV set, which will be drawn on Sept. 16.
Tickets for the 50/50 raffle cost $20 for one, $50 for three, or $100 for eight. Fellner said that the $100 for eight tickets is the best deal, in his opinion. “That works out to be $12.50 per ticket. Plus all the tickets are going into four draws.”
The grand prize 50/50 draw will be made on Nov. 18, during a Red Wings’ home game. “We are cautiously optimistic that the winner will receive around $30,000 once again this year. The raffle has reached the $60,000 mark in the last few years.”
Tickets can be purchased from any of the executive from the Red Wings or Beavers, at the Red Wings office in Crescent Point Place, or during any home games of the Weyburn Beavers and Weyburn Red Wings.
