Four students from the Estevan Comprehensive School have been chosen for the Saskatchewan Honour Band.
Kaylee MacKenzie (tenor sax), Everett Schwab (trumpet), Shaylee Foord (French horn) and Karissa Gustafson were selected after auditioning for the band and will join them in the spring. Both MacKenzie and Schwab are second year members of the honour band.
Rehearsals were held over a three day period in Saskatoon earlier this year and concluded with an honour groups concert that included the band, honour choir and a string orchestra.
Dr. Robert Taylor served as director of the band. Taylor is the director of bands at the University of British Columbia where he conducts the symphonic wind ensemble and concert winds, teaches instrumental conducting and is the head of the brass division.
