Education Week will take place at all Weyburn schools from Oct. 20 to 24. This year's Education Week theme is Supporting and Celebrating Success, which will provide an opportunity to recognize the great work happening in schools across Saskatchewan.

The Education Week events at Souris School are as follows:
On Monday, Oct. 20, there will be a school assembly in the gym at 12:55 p.m. All families are welcome to attend the event.
On Tuesday, Oct. 21, an SCC meeting and annual general meeting will be held at the school at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. The SCC is also in need of new members.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, there will be a family bingo night in the gym from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Education Week events for Assiniboia Park Elementary School are as follows:
A school spirit day will be held on Oct. 22. All students are encouraged to show their school spirit by wearing the school clothing or purple and white.
The same day, there will also be a taco-in-a-bag supper and book fair from 5 to 7:30 p.m.
At Haig School, there will be Communithon performances on Monday, Oct. 20, at 8:45 a.m.
On Tuesday, Oct. 21 a family math night will be held at the school, starting at 7 p.m. All parents and students are welcome to attend.
At St. Michael's, a school-wide prayer will be held over the intercom during the morning of Monday, Oct. 20 to start education week. Weekly prayers will continue in classrooms.
On Tuesday, Oct. 21, the Net Ministry Team from St. Vincent de Paul Church will be joining St. Michael School for an assembly at 11:20 a.m. The team will perform a short skit to students called "Pencils for Sale."
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, students are encouraged to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up.
On Thursday, Oct. 23, the Grade 5 room two class will host a gospel assembly at 12:40 p.m.
That day, students participating in Communithon will be practicing their performances before their show on Friday, Oct. 24.
On Saturday, Oct. 25 there will be a Halloween Family Fun Night at the St. Michael gym from 6 to 10 p.m. Parents and students are welcome to attend the event to participate in a night of dancing, snacks, and spooky reading sessions.
The Education Week events at Queen Elizabeth School are as follows:
A Scholastic Book Fair will run all week, giving students a chance to purchase books.
The Math Extravaganza will take place from Monday, Oct. 20 to Friday Oct. 24. Parents are encouraged to attend their children's math classes to learn about what they are covering in class and to play math games.
The math classes for each class will be assigned different days for each grade; all classes run from 1 to 2 p.m.
The Kindergarten math session will take place Monday, Oct. 20. The Grades 1, 2, and 3 math session will take place Tuesday, Oct. 21. The Grades 4 and 5 math session will take place Oct. 22, and the Grade 6 math session will take place Thursday, Oct. 23.
On Friday, Oct. 24, there will be an all day pajama day for students. Parents are also welcome to browse the book fair over the noon hour.
At Weyburn Junior High the Library contest will continue on Monday, Oct. 20. On Tuesday, Oct. 21, Muffin Morning will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. All families are welcome to attend and all donations will be going to Communithon.
There will be a black and gold spirit day on Oct. 22, and on Thursday, Oct. 23, there will be a school dance from 7 to 11 p.m.
On Friday, Oct. 24 Communithon performances and library contest winners will be announced.

The Drive away hunger food drive will be ongoing the entire week until Communithon on Friday, Oct. 24.
Nickel wars will take place throughout the week. Students drop a nickel in a bucket that has their home room teacher's name on it in an attempt to donate more nickels than their peers. All money raised will go to Communithon.
There will be a silent auction held at noon everyday of the week, with the draw being made on Friday, Oct. 24. Students and teachers can buy bids; proceeds will be going to Communithon.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23 and Thursday, Oct. 24, three-way conferences will be held. The conferences will give students an opportunity to discuss their academic progress with parents and teachers.
