Election for Council Seat May 23

            Election

            The election for a seat on Carlyle Town Council will be held Wednesday, May 23.

            Municipal revenue-sharing

            The Town of Carlyle's municipal revenue-sharing allocation (which is allocated by the provincial government) for 2018-2019 is $300,897. This total is a decrease from the 2017-2018 allocation, which was $322,828.

            Budget

            Council is currently at work on the Town's budget.

            Spring clean-up

            The Town of Carlyle Public Works Department are ready to commence spring clean-up - including repairing potholes and street sweeping - as soon as weather and road conditions permit.

            Daycare

            Council received notice from the provincial Ministry of Education that Carlyle did not receive a child care space allocation for 2017-2018. The Town will continue to pursue ways to bring a much-needed daycare facility to Carlyle and area.

            Website

            Council is currently considering a new platform for the Town of Carlyle's website, in order to provide enhanced service to residents and to promote tourism in the area. The Town of Carlyle's website can be reached at: www.townofcarlyle.ca.
