There are 26 more recoveries from COVID-19 to report in south East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, on May 24.
It’s a new single-day high for recoveries in Zone 4.
There were six new cases of COVID-19 to report in Zone 4 on May 24 as well, leaving the area with 71 active cases.
There were also two new cases in South East Zone 1, which is northwest of Zone 4.
Saskatchewan is reporting 103 new cases, 229 recoveries and no new deaths on May 24. There have been 45,709 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in Saskatchewan.
The other new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 3; Far North East, 3; North West, 18; North Central, 3; Saskatoon, 34; Central West, 1; Central East, 10; Regina, 14; South West, 1; and South Central, 4. Three new cases are pending residence information.
Recoveries total 43,645. Thirty-seven of the new recoveries are from the South East.
A total of 1,537 cases are considered active, with 113 in the South East.
There are three people receiving in-patient in the South East, the same number as May 23. A total of 133 people in Saskatchewan are in hospital, with 105 receiving in-patient care and 28 in intensive care.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 142 (11.6 new cases per 100,000).
There were 2,386 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on May 23, including 160 in the South East.
An additional 6,466 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 662,854. Included in that total was 444 doses in the South East region.
Seventy-six per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. Seventy per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose. Sixty-three per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose.
