The list of candidates in each riding has been finalized for the upcoming provincial election.
Voters in the Estevan constituency will have six people to choose from: Lori Carr for the Saskatchewan Party; Paul Carroll for the Progressive Conservative (PC) Party of Saskatchewan; Oskar Karkabatov for the Saskatchewan Liberal Party; Cameron Robock as an independent candidate; Branden Schick for the Green Party of Saskatchewan; and Tina Vuckovic for the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP).
All six candidates are running in a provincial election locally for the first time. They are looking to replace Doreen Eagles of the Sask. Party, who announced in 2014 that she wouldn’t seek a fifth term as Estevan’s MLA.
As for the Cannington constituency, incumbent Sask. Party MLA Dan D’Autremont is looking to be elected to a seventh term in the legislature. He will be challenged by Nathaniel Cole of the NDP, Patrick Dennie of the Liberals, Tierra Lemieux of the Green Party and Kurt Schmidt of the PCs.
Schmidt was the last candidate to declare his entry into the field, as it was announced on March 17, just two days before the slate of candidates was finalized.
The provincial election will take place on April 4.
