The Weyburn Fire Department is once again offering a rechargeable battery recycling service to Weyburn and area residents. The purpose of this program is to keep rechargeable batteries out of our landfill. Batteries can leak heavy metals such as nickel cadmium and lithium into the soil and water supplies, putting people at risk of developing health problems.
The following batteries can be dropped off at the Weyburn fire hall located at 55 16th Street:
Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd)
Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH)
Lithium Ion (Li-Ion)
Nickel Zinc (Ni-Zn)
Small sealed Lead Acid (SSLA/Pb)
Lithium Primary
Alkaline (AAA, AA, C,D, 9V 6V)
Cell Phones
Please help the Weyburn Fire Department keep our city green and drop off your old batteries and cell phones.
