A GoFundMe campaign is underway to support a local family who lost their west Estevan home in a fire Wednesday night.

Melissa MacKenzie started the campaign, “MacKenzie House Fire,” early on Thursday. She says that her family’s house burned down Wednesday. Everyone got out safe but they were left with nothing, just clothes, pyjamas and house coats.

Some of their personal items, such as pictures and phones and chargers, were also brought out.

“We will have to demo our house and will have nothing left but some clothes and pictures,” she wrote.
As of Thursday morning at 10:15 a.m., the campaign had 37 donors who contributed $2,565. There is a $5,000 goal.
