Sharon Styles finishes the run section of the 2014 ITU World Triathlon grand final, held in Edmonton on Sept. 1, where she won a gold medal for Canada in the women's ages 35 to 39 category. Sharon said that it wasn't until after the race, when an official approached her, that she discovered that she won the gold medal. She was fifth place after the swim section, second place after the bike section, and started and finished the running section in first place. Styles is a former Weyburn athlete, the daughter of Glen and Nancy Styles. She had competed in both cross country and track while attending the Comp.
