The Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation received $5,000 from Cogent CPA LLP, as part of a $50,000 pledge that was made in 2013. Ted Hillstead, managing partner of Cogent, presented the cheque to Dr. Alain Lenferna, chair of the Hospital Foundation, and Dale Renz, representative of the Hospital Foundation board.
Dr. Lenferna commented, “We are very grateful for the individuals and corporations that give on an annual basis. Their on-going commitment allows us to continue striving for our goal.” Cogent CPA LLP feels it is important to invest in local charitable organizations. “Weyburn and area will benefit greatly from the construction of a new hospital and modern treatment options and equipment,” said Hillstead. “We are happy to support the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation in their persistent efforts to raise enough funds for the project.”
The Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation Inc., founded in 2008, continues to raise funds to meet its objective of building and equipping a new hospital for Weyburn and the surrounding area. To date, WDHF has raised more than $22 million towards its goal. The hospital in Weyburn has provided 65 years of quality health care, however, the need for a new facility containing state of the art diagnostic equipment is evident.
