Estevan Police Service members received a call through the report impaired drivers (RID) program during the September 19 night shift. A concerned citizen noticed the driving actions of a motorist.

The vehicle’s licence plate and description were given to police, who responded to the Pleasantdale area and located the vehicle on Cundall Drive. The vehicle was stopped and a woman was arrested and charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and resisting arrest.

The woman then told police a child was in her home. Police checked it out and could not locate the 10-year-old girl. The suspect would not co-operate with police initially by telling them where the child was located. Police spent nearly two hours looking for the youth, and finally found her safe in another area of the city.

Members then responded to an east end residence for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, everything was okay and one of the parties had left the area.

Police received another RID call during the night shift about a vehicle leaving an east-area business, but the vehicle was not located.

Police were dispatched to a single-vehicle incident at the corner of 13th Avenue and Sixth Street during the morning of September 20. A light standard was knocked down and power was knocked out to the traffic lights. Police asked the public to drive with caution in the area until crews can make the
appropriate repairs. The driver of the vehicle did not have any injuries. No alcohol was involved in this collision. An investigation is ongoing.

Members also responded to a couple of alarms that proved to be false.
