The City of Weyburn is advising community residents of the immediate commencement of construction for water and sewer infrastructure expansion in the City's east end. The construction will take place in the Tatagwa Parkway corridor from Highway 13 E, south to East Avenue (see map). These improvements will service ongoing development within the City and along Highway 13.
Residents in this area can expect large scale excavation and heavy equipment activity along the Parkway corridor for the duration of construction.
Residents whose rear properties directly abut the corridor are requested to immediately remove any personal property such as trailers, boats, campers and other items which may be currently stored on the corridor. Enforced removal will be implemented where necessary.
Residents are also asked to respect all construction barriers and to ensure the safety of children and pets by remaining diligent in securing their property and avoiding the construction area.
Rear lane access will be restricted to local traffic during the construction process.
East Avenue, Coteau Avenue, Eaglesham Avenue and Warren Avenue will be utilized as access points for construction vehicles.
Construction is expected to take place through the fall/early winter, weather permitting. The contractor (Wappel Construction) will be performing the work and restoring the Parkway corridor to preconstruction conditions as early as possible in 2015. The existing tree buffer along the east edge of the corridor will be protected during construction.
The City of Weyburn would like to thank residents for their cooperation during these important infrastructure improvements.
