There will be new art exhibits in January plus the James Weir People’s Choice exhibition in the month of January, presented by the Weyburn Arts Council.
The People’s Choice exhibition will feature art works from artists throughout the southeast area at the Allie Griffin Art Gallery, from Jan. 5 to Feb. 9.
The reception and awards will be presented on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. Throughout the viewing period, people are asked to vote for their favourite work of art, and the last day for voting will be Feb. 3.
Three local photographers will be featured in an exhibition entitled, “The ARTie Trio”, for the months of January and February at the Signal Hill Art Gallery.
This exhibit will feature the photography of Art Wallace, Art Beck and Kim Schneider, and a reception with the photographers will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.
Photography by Erin Graas will be featured in an exhibit entitled, “Home and Away” at the Weyburn Credit Union Gallery. This exhibit will be on display for the months of January and February.
A drama presentation, “Displaced”, will be brought to the Tommy Douglas Centre by Ground Cover Theatre on Feb. 14, starting at 7:30 p.m.
This play won two awards at the Montreal Fringe Festival in 2015. Advance tickets will be available at Pharmasave for $25 per adult or $20 for seniors or students, and will be available at the door for $30 per adult, and $25 for seniors and students.
