Join the walk to Defeat Depression this weekend

Depression impacts virtually every Canadian family. It is estimated that 8% of Canadians will experience a major depression within their lifetimes.

Depression impacts virtually every Canadian family. It is estimated that 8% of Canadians will experience a major depression within their lifetimes.

On May 25, Weyburn is taking part in the national Defeat Depression campaign, which is also happening in other communities across Canada. At events from coast to coast, volunteers are organizing local walks and rides to tackle depression and to reduce the stigma associated with mental illness.

Funds raised through this initiative will assist the Mood Disorders Society of Canada.

The Defeat Depression campaign is about educating the public about mental illness and other mood disorders and to view mental illness just as one would view a physical illness.
