Gordon Wyant, Saskatchewan’s Justice Minister and Attorney-General, chats with Mayor Marcel Roy following a closed-door meeting with local representatives that included the Weyburn bar association and the Weyburn Police Service. The minister and deputy ministers met at Weyburn City Hall to discuss the closure of the Queen’s Bench at the Court House, along with the removal of the sheriff’s position, as of Jan. 1, and Wyant indicated they will be having discussions on what services they might be able to retain in Weyburn, although he said the Queen’s Bench staff will not be brought back.
