Lake Alma library starts story hour

Lake Alma (cpd) - The Story Hour began at the library on Oct. 7. Story hour is a great time for kids to socialize with other children in the community. If your children haven't attended story hour, please consider this your invitation.

Story hour is a great time for kids to socialize with other children in the community. If your children haven't attended story hour, please consider this your invitation. They love listening to the stories and doing a fun craft. Parents take turns bringing a snack - which is usually their favorite part of the day. If you have any questions call Bernice at the library or at home. Story hour will take place Oct. 7 and 21, Nov. 4 and 18 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. each day.

Another successful fall supper was held on Sept. 28 with almost 250 attending and enjoying the turkey, cabbage rolls and all the trimmings. The choice of dessert (pies) was spectacular.

Remember the First Aid and CPR course, to be held the weekend of Nov. 22-23. Call the RM office to register and for more details.

Cooler days and cold nights will be here soon and that means the Fall Trade Show, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Rink kitchen to be open for lunch, drinks and snacks. Check our Facebook page, at LakeAlmaRecBoard, and leave a comment or call Amanda to book a $20 table.

Lake Alma Lotto winners for August are as follows: the $300 winner, Jeff Tosczak with ticket # 73; two $120 winners, Linda and Tom Clausen, #17, and Judy and Laura Hoimyr, #52.

Larry and Eleanor Skjerdal were in Weyburn on Sept. 30 and were visitors with his mother, Delores and Duane Larsen.

Clare and Ida Offet were Queen City goers on Sept. 29 where Ida had a medical appointment. They met their son Craig and his neighbor Steve for breakfast and spent the late afternoon with Marie and Donald Jacobson playing cards and enjoyed supper with them before they returned home to Weyburn.

Marie and Donald Jacobson of Regina were callers at Clare and Ida Offet on Oct. 2 for lunch and helped Clare celebrate his birthday.

Craig Offet of Regina also stopped for lunch on his way to Estevan to go pheasant hunting with Ricky Franklin for the weekend. Supper guests were Delores and Duane Larsen and Karen and George Barsness.
