Library aims for immigrant-friendly services, programs

An increase of immigrants has occurred in the past few years for the City of Weyburn.

An increase of immigrants has occurred in the past few years for the City of Weyburn. As such, the Weyburn Public Library, which serves all community members, is looking for suggestions on how to welcome and work with new immigrants in order to make the library more immigrant-friendly.

"I welcome suggestions from our new community members, and their friends," said Kam Teo, branch manager of the Weyburn Public Library. He added that the increase of new immigrants is a very positive development for the Weyburn community.
Those residents who have suggestions for how the Library can improve their services for immigrants can contact Kam Teo at the Library, or email him at [email protected].

"For newcomers who are willing to do so, there is a survey which they can fill out," added Teo. Information on the survey will be kept in confidence. All suggestions will be considered seriously by the librarians.
"The Weyburn Public Library looks forward to working with new immigrants, and their friends to make the library more immigrant-friendly in the new year," added Teo.
