Weyburn fire fighter Kevin Cooke ignites a pool of gasoline and diesel on fire in preparation for fire training for a group of summer students who work for Cenovus Energy at the Weyburn plant on Thursday. Cooke taught the students how to correctly use a chemical extinguisher to put out a fire involving gas and diesel, both as individuals, and as teams of two; the training was part of a week of safety training courses the students had to undergo before starting on their summer jobs. Area oil companies, along with service and supply companies, are preparing the upcoming Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show, to be held June 5-6 at the Weyburn exhibition grounds. The show has been sold out several months in advance.
