Midale Museum holds annual meeting, elects board

Midale (cpd) - The Midale Museum Committee held their annual general meeting and the board consists of president, Ken Swenson; vice-president, Corey Torgunrud; treasurer, Daryl Cox and secretary Bev Sobush. In recent weeks, the museum committee have had ramps installed to some of the buildings up at the Heritage Grounds and the steps to the Dr. Mainprize house have been repaired.

The museum has a new salt and pepper shaker collection that was donated by the Hughes' family. Next year's threshing days will be held the second weekend of August.

A fundraiser for Jerry Holman was held on Grey Cup Sunday. It consisted of a silent auction, potluck supper and viewing the game on a projection television screen. Andie Littlejohn, Pastor Mike White, Angela Carlson and Marla Brasseur were the organizers and workers for this event. All donations were greatly appreciated.

Public skating at the rink will be held on Friday, Nov. 29 from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 1 from 2-4 p.m.

The Midale Mustangs were successful in their away game in Redvers on Nov. 20. The Mustang's next home action will be tonight at 8 p.m. when they host the Bienfait Coalers.

The Midale Novice Petroleum Storm began their season with a tournament in Milestone with three losses but they played really well. The Storm will host their tournament this Saturday, Nov. 30. It will begin at 9 a.m. with the Storm on the ice and they will play the last game of the day as well.

The Midale Mini Mustangs initiation team will host their home tournament on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The new sharpener is up and ready to go. Sharpening fees will be $5 a pair.

Also on Facebook, you can join the Midale Rink/ Harry O' Memorial Arena Page for updates and information. If you need to book ice on the hockey side, book meetings, wedding receptions, etc. on the curling side, please call this number.

For those curlers out there, the ice is almost finished. If you are a team or a single curler and would like to be put on a team or even used as a spare, please contact Brad Eggum on his cell or at home. If you would like to book ice on the curling side, please get in touch with Brad Eggum.

The Midale Lions Club's next bingo will be held Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. and it will be their Christmas bingo.

Adult volleyball is starting up again on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at Midale Central School. You do not need to register, you just show up.

Dates so far include Nov. 27 and Dec. 4. Admission is only $2 per night to play.

The Midale Rec Board's annual Trade, Craft and Bake Sale will be held this year on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. There are already 30 confirmed vendors offering an assortment of handmade crafts, baking, cooking needs, jewelry, etc., so they are now almost at capacity. Call Catrina Moldenhauer to book your table. Tables are $20 each.
