Following a couple of unexpected delays near the end of the process, it was made known this week that the computed tomography (CT) scanner will be launched at St. Joseph's Hospital in Estevan on Monday, Feb. 22.
The hospital's executive director Greg Hoffort said the trained technicians and a radiologist will be on site for the launching of the $1.2 million program.
Service for the medical community will begin the next day.
Mayfair Diagnostics of Regina and Calgary have signed an agreement to read the images coming from the Estevan service to assist with the diagnostic processes.
Next week's edition of the Mercury will have more on this story.
