The Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop has officially announced its new location for construction of their new facility.
The Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop has officially announced its new location for construction of their new facility.
"On behalf of the board of directors, I am pleased to announce we have partnered with DSI Contracting of Weyburn for the construction of our new Day Program building, SARCAN recycling depot and vocational training centre. These buildings will be located at 1800 Ebel Road in the new industrial park subdivision," said Andria Brady, executive director of the Wor-Kin Shop Corp.
DSI Contracting has over 35 years of experience, specializing in residential and commercial buildings.
The new Day Program building will provide three times the space they currently have at their East Avenue location, and will offer significantly enhanced options for programs and services. Many of these enhancements are not possible at their current over-crowded location.
The brand new SARCAN recycling depot will also be expanded, as it will be more than twice the size of the current space. The new building design will incorporate enhanced customer service lanes, better material handling capabilities, and improved staff facilities.
The new Vocational Training Centre will house the agency's wood shop, along with paper and cardboard recycling operations, providing employment opportunities for those with intellectual disabilities, and supplying products and services to Weyburn and the the southast area.
"The permit process is underway, and we look forward to announcing our official ground-breaking in the near future. Watch our website or follow us on Facebook to stay up to date as the project progresses," said Brady.
