No active cases of COVID-19 in Estevan area, first time since late September 2020

With no new cases reported in the South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, and one new recovery the region finally hit zero active COVID-19 case goal. Last time the area didn’t have any active cases was in late September 2020.

With no new cases reported in the South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, and one new recovery the region finally hit zero active COVID-19 case goal.

Last time the area didn’t have any active cases was in late September 2020.  

There are 52 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 29, bringing the provincial total to 48,823 cases.

South East region also didn’t see any new cases reported.

The new cases reported today are located in the following zones: Far North West, 7; Far North East, 1; North West, 12; North Central, 9; Saskatoon, 8; Central West, 2; and Regina, 13.  Two previous cases pending residence information have now been assigned to the following zones: Far North East, 1; and Regina, 1.

Two new deaths were reported today.  One death was reported in the 60 to 69 age group from the North West zone and one death was reported in the 70 to 79 age group from the North Central zone.

Another 54 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 47,791. Four of the new recoveries are from the South East region.

A total of 464 cases are considered active, including 30 in the South East.

There are 72 people in hospital in Saskatchewan, with 60 receiving inpatient care and 12 in intensive care. Nobody is currently in hospital in the South East.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 46.

There were 1,425 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 28, including 80 in the South East.

An additional 8,617 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, including 171 in the South East, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,136,300. Eighty per cent of those over the age of 40+ have received their first dose.  Seventy-five per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose.  Seventy-one per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while seventy per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
