No new COVID cases in Weyburn area, 53 new cases province-wide

There are no new COVID cases in the Weyburn area as of July 7, and 53 new cases of COVID-19 province-wide, bringing the provincial total to 49,039 cases.

There are no new COVID cases in the Weyburn area as of July 7, and 53 new cases of COVID-19 province-wide, bringing the provincial total to 49,039 cases.

The new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 5; Far North East, 3; Northwest, 1; North Central, 5; Saskatoon, 6; Central West, 3; Regina, 13; and Southwest, 10. Seven cases are pending residence information.  Two cases were reassigned to the following zones: Regina, 1; and Southeast, 1.

One new death was reported today in the 40-to-49 age group from the Northwest zone.

Recoveries total 48,150, including 40 new recoveries as of July 7, and 319 cases are considered active.

There are 64 people in hospital, and 54 are receiving inpatient care: Northwest, 4; North Central, 7; Saskatoon, 23; Central West, 1; Central East, 3; Regina, 12; South Central, 3; and Southeast, 1. Ten are in intensive care: Northwest, 1; North Central, 2; Saskatoon, 4; and Regina, 3.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 31 (2.6 per 100,000).

There were 2,396 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on July 6, including 63 tests in the southeast region.

An additional 13,719 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, including 811 doses in the southeast region, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 1,247,253. Over half a million Saskatchewan residents are now fully vaccinated.

Seventy-one per cent of those 12+ have received their first dose and 50 per cent of those 12+ are fully vaccinated.

All Public Health Measures to Be Lifted July 11

With more than 70 per cent of residents over the age of 12 having received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the full implementation of Step 3 of the Re-Opening Roadmap will occur on Sunday, July 11. 

That means that as of Sunday, July 11, all public health orders will be removed.  This includes the removal of the province-wide mandatory masking order, and the removal of limits on events and gathering sizes.
