The staff at Nutrien Ag Solutions in Carnduff was inspired to celebrate the importance and uniqueness of the female farmer in the agriculture industry as part of International Women’s Day on March 8.
Women are described as the often unseen faces of agriculture. They have always played a vital role on the farm. They work the fields, birth livestock, do daily chores, keep the books and take an active role in important management decisions.
Like all farmers, these women follow commodity prices, express their great love for the land and boast about the generations that farmed and ranched the same ground before them.
Nutrien Ag Solutions Crop Production advisors Leanne Schell, Marlee Phair and Taylor Paton spent the day delivering some of their female farmers a gift bag filled with items from local vendors in the area, with COVID-19 restrictions in mind.
It was a small gesture to show their appreciation for all that women do in the agriculture industry. Nutrien wanted these women to know that they are important and successful role models who are empowering others. Getting the opportunity to say “thank you” and “we appreciate all you do” made for a great day for everyone.
