City resident Ron Metheral demonstrates an old-fashioned telephone in the city's old phone booth that he restored to mint condition. Metheral said he found this booth under the old wooden grandstand on the city's fair grounds, and he fully restored it, and has it on display in his back yard. He recalls seeing this booth located along the walkway between the McKinnon's department store (now MNP Place downtown) and the old post office during the 1940s. The label by the booth's original maker in Peru, Indiana, is still on the door, and the glass was double-paned to allow for privacy.
