There is one new case of COVID-19 to report in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to the dashboard on the provincial government’s website for July 3.
There are now two active cases in South East Zone 4; the other was reported on June 30.
There is also a new active case in South East Zone 3, which includes Weyburn.
Saskatchewan has 49 new cases to report on July 3, bringing the provincial total to 48,931.
Thirty-three more people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 47,942. Four of the new recoveries are from the South East region.
There are 421 active cases in Saskatchewan, including 21 from the South East.
Sixty people are in hospital in Saskatchewan, including one who is receiving inpatient care in the South East. This is the first hospitalization reported in the South East in more than two weeks.
The seven-day average of new cases in Saskatchewan is 36.
A total of 1,679 tests were processed in Saskatchewan on July 2, including 49 from the South East.
There were 8,392 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered, with 171 from the South East.
The provincial government announced earlier this week it would not send out the daily COVID-19 report for the province on weekends or on statutory holidays, but it will continue to update the dashboard, which has numbers for the different zones and the province as a whole.
The Mercury will only publish and share numbers for South East Zone 4 on days which there has been a new case or recovery.
