One person is dead following a collision between a semi-truck and a car north of Estevan on Tuesday evening.
Members of the Estevan RCMP, the Estevan Police Service, the Estevan Fire and Rescue Service and the Estevan Emergency Medical Services were called to the accident, which occurred at the junction of Highway 47 and Estevan’s truck bypass.
The male driver and lone occupant of the semi-truck was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Estevan with unknown injuries, while the female driver and sole occupant of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bypass and a portion of Highway 47 north of the city were closed for several hours due to the collision.
The matter is still under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
