The Pangman and Area Historical Society Inc. have received the gift of the Abundant Living Ministries building and are going to open this as the Pangman Museum.
With this gift comes great responsibility and expenses. They are looking to the community for financial donations as well as artifact and miscellaneous donations.
They would appreciated the community’s help as they are in need of tables and chairs, tea/coffee cups and tea and coffee pots, electric tea kettle/coffee maker, plates/cutlery, table cloths, shelving units/ wall shelves, display cases, file cabinets, desk, cash register or large cash box, room dividers, any type of office supplies and picture frames.
Any artifacts must be in good display condition and all artifacts must pertain to this area. Items can include furniture, clothing, garments and accessories, quilts, maps, school books, old books, yearbooks, sports, business and event memorabilia, photographs and albums, disbanded organization minutes and toys and games. The Pangman and Area Historical Society will be operating a second-hand store also in their new building. To get started they will be having drop-off times as well as anything from the list of things they could potentially use to operate a museum. These donations will help the Society get up and running. Drop off times will be posted.
The Pangman tourism committee will be holding a meeting at the Pangman Community Centre on Saturday, Feb. 1, starting at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Pangman Ladies Night out will be held in the Pangman School gym on Saturday, April 25. The theme is year is “Hey, Ladies, let’s go to Fabulous Las Vegas”. More details will follow later.
A Tupperware bingo night will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at the Pangman Community Centre starting at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Adults only. More information will follow later.
Pangman School will be hosting a One School, One Book Family Fair on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the school gym from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. There will be carnival games, prizes, food sales and much more. Everyone is welcome to attend, and admission is free.
Word was received on Jan. 8 of the passing of Keith Kessler, age 82, of Regina, formerly from Pangman. Keith was raised on a farm near Pangman, married Yvonne Kesslering and they raised their family of four farming near Pangman. After retiring, Keith and Yvonne moved to Regina. Many family and friends attended his funeral held at the Regina Funeral home on Jan. 19. Interment was held at the Pangman cemetery.
Six residents of the Deep South Personal Care home participated in the High Roller tournament on Jan. 13, with Joyce Hval coming in first place with her score of 105 points. Betty Hildebaugh came in second with her score of 95 points and Annie Seitz took third place with her score of 60 points. On Jan. 14, eight residents participated in the Bean Bag tournament, with Joyce Hval coming in first place with 53 points. Ida Gurskey took second place with her score of 47 points and Evelyn Froh took third with 45 points.
During the afternoon eight residents participated in the curling tournament, with Evelyn Froh placing first, Edith Merritt, Betty Hildebaugh, Joyce Hval, Twyla Boldt and Edna Morrison all tied for second with 70 points, and Annie Seitz brought in third with her score of 60 points.
Eight residents participated in the bowling tournament on Jan. 14 with Ruby Gosling coming in first place with her score of 103 points. Evelyn Froh took second place with 100 points and Joyce Hval brought in third with her score of 90 points.
Six residents participated in the High Roller tournament on Jan. 21, with Addie Johnson coming first with her score of 210 points. Evelyn Froh took second with her score of 190 points and Betty Hildebaugh came in third with 180 points. Marianne and Allan Hancock from Milestone entertained the residents with music during the afternoon.
Debbie and Boyd Kessler visited with Keith Kessler at the Regina Pasqua Hospital on Jan. 4.
Visiting with Debbie and Boyd Kessler over Christmas holidays was Debbie’s sister Carol and Ron Keizer from Alberta.
Visiting with Adam and Brandy Kessler and girls over Christmas was Brandy’s brother Justin Gartner and family from Corning, her mom Sherry Fisher and Brian Colbow and Tyler Gartner.
